Who we are
Tassie Adventure Rider operates tassieadventurerider.com.au, including its online merchandise store. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you browse, shop, create an account or contact us.
For privacy enquiries, requests or complaints, email [email protected].
Information we collect
When you place an order, we collect the details needed to complete it: your name, email address, billing and delivery addresses, phone number where provided, items ordered, amounts paid and any order notes. We also keep order status, payment references and refund records.
If you create an account, WordPress and WooCommerce store your account and contact details, a securely hashed password and your order history. You can update your available account details from My Account. When you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you include in your message.
Browsing and checkout can generate technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, pages or products viewed, and cart contents. This supports the cart, shipping and tax estimates, troubleshooting and site security. Hosting logs may also record requests and errors.
Where WooCommerce order attribution is enabled, session cookies record how you reached the store, such as a referring website or campaign link, and browsing details associated with an order. This helps us understand which sources lead to purchases.
How we use information
We use this information to process and deliver orders, manage accounts, send order and service messages, answer enquiries, handle returns and refunds, investigate payment disputes, prevent fraud and meet applicable accounting and legal obligations. Store records also help us understand sales and maintain the website.
If you do not provide information required for an order or account, we may be unable to provide that service. Placing an order does not by itself subscribe you to marketing emails.
Payments through PayPal
PayPal is the payment provider for this store. To arrange a payment, the checkout shares relevant order and customer details with PayPal, including the purchase amount and currency, contact information and billing or delivery details as needed for the transaction.
Payment credentials are handled by PayPal. Our store receives payment confirmations, transaction identifiers and related information needed to reconcile orders, refunds and disputes; it does not store your full card number or card security code.
PayPal also processes information for its own payment, security and regulatory purposes and may use cookies or similar technologies when its services load. Its handling of personal information is described in the PayPal Privacy Statement.
Embedded content and external links
Pages may include embedded content, such as YouTube videos. The provider can receive your IP address and browser information, use cookies and track interactions with the embedded content, including in connection with an account you hold with that provider. Its own privacy policy applies to that processing.
Links to our social profiles and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
How long we keep information
We retain order, payment and correspondence records for fulfilment, customer support, refunds, disputes and applicable tax, accounting and legal requirements. The period depends on the record and the reason it is needed; closing an account does not necessarily remove records of completed orders.
Account information remains while the account is maintained. Comments and their metadata may remain until they are removed so that discussion and moderation history can be preserved. Copies may also remain in backups until those backups are replaced.
You can contact us to ask about the retention of a particular record or request removal. We review removal requests against any continuing administrative, legal or security need to retain information.
Access, correction and privacy requests
You can ask us to provide access to, correct, export or delete personal information we hold about you. Email [email protected] with enough information to identify the account or order and explain your request. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
Account holders can update available profile and address details through My Account. If you request a password reset, WordPress may include your IP address in the reset email. Information required for legal, accounting, security or ongoing order obligations may be retained when other information is removed.
If you have a privacy concern, contact us so we can investigate and respond. If it remains unresolved, you can seek guidance from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner about complaint options available to you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website, services or information-handling practices change. The current version is available on this page. Please contact us if you have questions about a change.

Comments, reviews and media
Where comments or product reviews are available, we collect the submitted text, name, email address, IP address and browser information for moderation and spam prevention. Approved contributions and the displayed author name are public; the email address is not shown as part of the comment.
If profile avatars are enabled, an email-derived hash may be sent to Gravatar to retrieve an avatar. The avatar can appear beside a public comment. See Automattic’s privacy policy for how Gravatar handles this information.
If you have permission to upload images, remove embedded location information before uploading. Visitors may be able to download public images and read metadata contained in them.
